An Open Invitation to the Holy Angels Parishioners Do you wish for a deeper appreciation of the richness of the beliefs and traditions of our Catholic Faith? How does the power of God's Word affect our daily lives? If you are among those who are asking questions, there is help on the way. Our parish is participating in “Why Catholic?” an opportunity through small communities to bring together the Scriptures and the Catechism of the Catholic Church.
Why Catholic? can be a powerful means of growth for each of us individually, as well as for the parish as a community. We hope you will consider joining with other parishioners on this unique spiritual journey.

Why Catholic? takes place in small community settings in participant's homes or other meeting places.
Why Catholic? groups meet during two seasons of the year, with six sessions per season, for four years. The first season will occur in the fall and the second season will occur during Lent.
What Are the Themes in Why Catholic?
Why Catholic? focuses on the themes based on the four pillars of The Catechism of the Catholic Church.
Book 4 Christian Prayer: Deepening My Experience of God (12 Sessions) 2008-2009
The first three sessions of Christian Prayer: Deepening My Experience of God focus on prayer and how God communicates with us. The next six sessions look at different forms of prayer and some difficulties we experience in prayer. The last three sessions offer a deeper look at the Lord's Prayer. The sessions explore the concept of prayer, and include various styles of prayer for participants' use.
Book 1 The Profession of Faith: What We Believe (12 Sessions) 2009-2010
The first book in the series, The Profession of Faith: What We Believe, looks at the truths that we, as Catholics, believe. It offers insights on what it means to be a Catholic following "the oldest Roman catechism, the Apostles' Creed."
Book 2 The Celebration of the Christian Mystery: Sacraments (12 Sessions) 2010-2011
The first four sessions of The Celebration of the Christian Mystery: Sacraments focus on the liturgy and an understanding of the sacraments. Then follow two sessions on Baptism, one on the sacrament itself and another on the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults. The latter offers reflections on the Rite and on its meaning for us and our parishes. The last six sessions focus on the other six sacraments.
